Our clinic is located at 381 Kent Street, Suite 4000 (4th Floor) in the Kent Medical building, in Centretown, Ottawa. The building is on Kent, between James and Gilmour (Larger intersections: Between Somerset and Gladstone).
There is a paid parking lot right at the building, however the surrounding streets (Kent St, James St, and Gilmour St) have metered parking up to 2 hours that is cheaper than the building parking. The street parking costs approximately $3 per hour. Please ensure that your parking payment goes beyond just the length of the appointment to account for time to process payment, book your follow-up, etc. The “PayByPhone” app is a convenient way to add more time to your parking if needed without having to go back to your car.
We are not responsible for any parking tickets incurred for any reason (e.g as result of appointments running late).
Our clinic is generally open Tuesday to Friday. The clinic is usually closed on Mondays and weekends. Reception hours Tuesday to Thursday are from 9:30 AM to 5:00PM, and 9:30AM to 2:00PM on Fridays. Please note that reception hours can vary from day to day, so if you are coming in to pick up supplements or for any other reason outside of a scheduled appointment, please ensure that you have been in touch with our receptionist to arrange for a specific time.

Most insurance providers have coverage for naturopathic services
Note that the cost of lab tests and recommended supplements are NOT included in these rates. Your ND will discuss with you the costs of these based on your individual needs.
1 hour session: $170
Our counseling services are through a Registered Social Worker. Many insurance benefits include social worker coverage.
Initial consult (1 hour): $120 + HST
Second nutrition follow-up (45 minutes): $100 + HST
30 minute follow-up: $65 + HST
Nutrition services are typically sold as a package of 4 visits which is usually the minimum number of consults required to implement the most important foundational elements of healthy eating.
Full Package (Initial consult, Second 45 min follow-up + two 30 min follow-ups): $350 + HST
Accelerated Package (Initial consult + Second 45 min follow-up): $220 + HST - This 2 visit package is intended for those who are part of the Natural Fertility Program.
Acupuncture with our Registered Acupuncturist:
Initial intake visit + treatment (75 minutes): $110
Follow-up acupuncture treatments are 45 minutes: $68
Acupuncture with our Naturopathic Doctors:
$70 per 30 minute session
$90 per 45 minute session
Must first have an initial naturopathic visit before starting acupuncture with the ND.
Our acupuncture services that are done by a Naturopathic Doctor, are billed under naturopathic services for insurance purposes. Acupuncture services performed by our Registered Acupuncturist may be claimed under acupuncture benefits through some insurance providers.
Most extended health insurance plans cover the services we offer. Please contact your insurance company to find out your specific coverage. Full payment is due at the time of the visit, and you will be issued a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company.
Please note that any lab tests required and/or treatments recommended (e.g. supplements, herbal remedies, etc) are an additional cost. Supplements are often not covered by insurance plans, however lab tests may be covered under your naturopathic service allotment.
Payment Methods Accepted
We accept Visa and Mastercard (not Amex), as well as cash, email money transfer and cheque. We do not accept Interac Debit cards. If you are paying by email money transfer, the transfer must be sent to us during your appointment. Cheques can be written to Awaken Life, and email transfers are to be sent to email@example.com.
We want to be respectful of the time that each practitioner sets aside for your appointment. Last minute cancellations can be very disruptive to our schedule, and we want to be considerate to patients who really need to be seen. As such, we have a cancellation policy in effect.
We require 2 full business days notice for cancellations. If you cancel with less than 2 full business days of an appointment, you will still be billed the FULL fee for the visit. For example, if you have an appointment on Tuesday at 10am, you must contact us no later than 10am on the Friday before the appointment.
Consideration may be given to emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances, solely at our discretion.
If you repeatedly book and cancel appointments even if it is within the allowed time for the cancellations, it is at the practitioners discretion to refuse to allow any further bookings. Please understand that it is disruptive to our schedules to have frequent cancellations, so please ensure at the time of booking that you can commit to the appointment time.
