The power of the mind in health cannot be emphasized enough. The mind and body are not two separate entities, but rather two organs working cohesively within one individual. Without good mental health, physical health deteriorates. Conversely without physical health, mental health issues ensue. Learning to manage stress appropriately is of utmost importance especially when it comes to hormonal health and infertility.

Women suffering from hormonal health conditions such as PCOS have been linked to higher rates of anxiety and depression (1). Moreover, stress, depression, hopelessness, feelings of worthlessness and alienation has been reported by individuals suffering through infertility (2). Unfortunately, research has shown a strong correlation between stress and a reduction in pregnancy rates (4). Finding healthy coping strategies through counselling, and finding a counsellor who specializes in hormonal health and infertility concerns can be incredibly impactful.
